Fountain Piazza del Carmine - Florence

FOUNTAIN AND SEATS - PIAZZA DEL CARMINE, FLORENCE

Il Bronzetto produces furniture specifically designed for outdoor public spaces such as squares or gardens or indoor such as museums. One public project is the fountain of Piazza del Carmine, one of the most characteristic square in the Oltrarno neighbourhood

ORA ET LABORA

The fountain, entitled "ora et labora" symbolizes the importance of Florentine craftsmanship in the Oltrarno district. It is a true work of art, generated by the creativity of the young student Leonardo Panchetti: three nails of different heights, which work as fountains for adults, for children and for dogs. The young creative won a competition promoted by the Municipality of Florence, which took place as part of the restoration project of the square. The rewarding contents were originality, feasibility and contextualization.

ARTIGIANER

The Artigianer, a word play of the two terms artigiano (= artisan) and designer, Cosimo De Vita, designs the seatbacks, in brass and bronze, of the seats in the square. These seatbacks reproduce the facades of the most important churches of Florence. A work, created partly by the hands of the master craftsmen of Bronzetto and partly through the use of digital technologies (rendering, 3D models, numerical control machinery etc.).
