A kitchen tells its story through the details

Some spaces are remembered for a colour, a light, a material. Then there are smaller, almost everyday details that end up defining the way that space is experienced.

In the kitchen, this happens constantly.

We open a drawer, a cabinet, a cupboard door dozens of times a day. A handle therefore becomes one of the most frequent points of contact between us and the space: a functional element, of course, but also a design choice.

Because the character of a kitchen can also be seen in the way it opens.

Shapes that create an atmosphere

A shape can evoke the sea, as in the Oceano collection. It can recall a branch and the world of the forest, like Chalet. It can transform nature into a small sculptural element, as with Fauna, or reinterpret a more classic and timeless language through Novecento.

There is no single rule. Rather, there are atmospheres, materials and inspirations that each detail can interact with.

With over 100 models of handles and knobs in the catalogue and the possibility to develop custom solutions, the point is not simply to find a detail that is “beautiful”.

It is to find the one that truly belongs to the space.

The detail within the project

The projects developed over the years show this clearly.

At Villa Gli Arcipressi, in the hills of Florence, handles and knobs become part of a broader material language.

At Villa La Marchesina, in Puglia, forms inspired by local vegetation and the surrounding landscape enter the interiors through custom-made elements.

In projects by Archicona Studio, instead, brass details become tools for personalisation, capable of interacting with very different surfaces, colours and materials..

Before the kitchen: the workshop

But before entering a kitchen, many of these objects have passed through another space: the workshop.

Some Bronzetto knobs are made using lost-wax casting, an ancient technique that makes it possible to transfer organic shapes, textures and irregularities into brass.

A model gives way to molten metal; then come cleaning, finishing, polishing, patinating and, above all, the hands.

A Florentine way of making

It is a way of making deeply connected to the place Bronzetto comes from.

The Florentine Oltrarno, or Diladdarno, is still today a network of workshops, studios and knowledge passed down through generations.

Here, restorers, goldsmiths, framers and artisans continue to work with materials through techniques that require time, experience and precision.

It is here, too, that our way of understanding design takes shape: knowing the material, respecting its timing and allowing it to transform.
