The artisanal heart of Florence, our home 

On the other side of Ponte Vecchio, on the left bank of the Arno, Florence changes pace. 

This is where the Oltrarno begins, or, as a Florentine would say, the Diladdarno: “across the Arno”. More than a geographical indication, it is almost a way of recognising another soul of the city. Quieter, more intimate, made up of squares, gardens, historic palaces, narrow streets and, above all, workshops. 

San Frediano, Santo Spirito, Borgo San Jacopo, Via Maggio, Via dei Serragli: the Oltrarno still preserves a deep part of Florence’s identity. A place where, alongside museums and monuments, artisan workshops, antique dealers, restorers, goldsmiths, framers, tailors, upholsterers and paper craftsmen continue to thrive. 

Here, knowledge still passes through the hands. 

Some create marbled paper, others prepare frames using the traditional bole gilding technique, while others continue to shape materials and forms through methods that require time, patience and a kind of knowledge that is difficult to replace. 

This is what makes the Oltrarno special: it is not a place frozen in the past. 

Workshops change, languages evolve, projects become contemporary. Yet one precise idea of making remains: understanding the material, respecting its timing, transforming it through experience. 

This is also Bronzetto’s story. 

Our workshop was born and grew in this very part of Florence, where craftsmanship has never been simply about production, but about a culture of design. Brass is worked, shaped, burnished, polished, patinated and transformed into objects made for today’s interiors. 

Lighting, handles, knobs, accessories: contemporary forms carrying an ancient know-how. 

This is why, for us, Oltrarno means home. 

Not only because it is where we come from, but because it continues to represent the way we like to work: with care, curiosity and respect for things made well.
