Bronzetto for the villas of Castello di Casole, a Belmond Hotel

A Tuscan tale of light, craft, and character

Nestled in the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by oak woods and centuries of history, Castello di Casole, a Belmond Hotel Tuscany, reopened its doors for the 2023 season. This former noble estate, once home to the aristocratic Bargagli family of Casole d’Elsa, is now an exclusive retreat where rustic tradition meets contemporary elegance.

Rustic soul, contemporary touch

The transformation of this historic estate into a refined hospitality destination was entrusted to Alessandro Moriconi, a Tuscan-born, Paris-based designer from the studio AMP Paris. Tasked with the restoration and design of the suites and villas, Moriconi embraced a material-driven, site-specific approach. Traditional techniques, local craftsmanship, and raw materials—both original and reclaimed—became the foundation of a design that respects the past while speaking to the present.

Bronzetto among the artisans

Among the selected artisans, Bronzetto was called upon to create custom furnishings for many of the estate’s satellite villas. In our Florentine workshop, chairs, sofas, tables, and coffee tables took shape—pieces that reflect the rugged beauty and essential character of the Tuscan landscape.

Wrought iron and cast brass define the collection, where earthy tones and olive green fabrics dominate, and textures remain raw and irregular. The lines are inspired by the rural surroundings and echo the sculptural minimalism of Giacometti.

The Eden outdoor collection, featured across several villas and also suitable for indoor use, was produced in mahogany-painted iron, with custom-made cushions in a deep olive green—a direct reference to the natural palette of the region.
